I started to realize that when you build a consumer product these are the 3 most important things:
- product need to be cool to use
- product need to be fun to use
- product need to be easy

It doesn’t really need to be useful. 
There are plenty of useful products but if those are not cool, they don’t succeed

1/ The Startup Brand Fallacy. Brand marketing is mostly useless for consumer startups. Startups build a great brand by being successful, finding product market fit and scaling traction, etc. But it’s not a real lever. Let’s not mix up correlation with causation!

Sure, branding is the result of a successful product. Of course you need to find pmf and all these things. 
But I think you need something coool, even small things that make people fall in love with the thing you’re making. 
And if you have that, other things in your app that are not functioning correctly will go kinda unnoticed.

Expecially now that we live in a world with 100s of possible choices, small details that make people passionate about an app, smartphone, car, ecc are key to success. And those build a brand.
