Collectibles launch tomorrow

1. Update to the latest app in the App Store

2. Restart your app 1-2x

3. Tomorrow you’ll get an in-app prompt to opt in (or out!) of the feature after 9am PT

4. Not all casts will be eligible. The author needs to opt-in.

5. For new casts, auctions last for 24 hours.

6. For historical casts, auctions last for 7 days. 

7. You’ll get notifications if your casts receive bids and/or auctions you are participating in have new bids.

8. Remember, the primary goal of the feature is to allow you directly support another person on the network—peer-to-peer, onchain, no algo.

9. Collectibles are NFTs (721s) on Base.

10. They will all be in the same collection. Royalties (low likelihood there’s much activity here to start) go back to the protocol rewards pool. (If this grows to be substantial, we’ll reevaluate. Don’t solve non-existent problems.)

11. Any cast from any client is eligible — as long as the author opted in

12. Bids are in USDC on Base.

13. Mobile only at launch; web at a later date. 

14. To be clear: you’re buying a collectible of the *cast*, not the actual text / image / video.

Very cool, sounds like the creator gets the “lions share”’which is great, but I also like some support going towards the protocol rewards!!🤙
