I wouldn’t put @vitalik.eth’s thought in the latter category, but it does carry a certain human centricity/supremacy (sometimes explicitly). Would love to see a vitalik technological optimism that plays with technogenesis, self as ecology, and a flat ontology in the style of Bruno Latour’s democracy of things.

Who is doing longtermism/deep futurism from the perspective of mutual entanglement, environmental coupling, intersubjectivity, open ended intelligence - i.e., an abundance of diverse minds on a flat plane and all relationally determined? It feels like the West has only one model of deep futurism and it's based in dominance, extraction, human supremacy, scarcity and jealous ownership of intelligence understood under a single umwelt.

I just happened to prompt GPT last night about the ethics of owning luxury cars, especially multiple, especially on the exorbitantly expensive side. Totally expected it to equivocate and give some remarks about the second order effects of economies around luxury goods raising the wealth of all involved (or something). It was like nah, they’re morally indefensible at every level. 🤷🏼‍♂️
