The foot fetish hypothesis

I heard this theory that male foot fetishes might have been naturally selected for because feet are the body part most likely to pick up infections. 

Which is… insane, but also kind of makes sense? Like, you’re barefoot on the savannah, step in some primordial muck, and suddenly your tribe’s future depends on the guy who can visually diagnose trench foot from ten paces.

So maybe somewhere in our evolutionary past, the dudes going “hm, those arches look healthy” were the ones keeping their bloodlines alive. Fast forward a few millennia, and now we’ve got entire industries built on OnlyFans pedicures.
