I don’t understand how TBA is determining these MCs for casts. 

One cast has 12 likes and is worth *$81 (not really) and another has 50 likes and comments and recasts and is apparently worthless lol

I know I’m an idiot but what am I missing?

that's the whole point, it's not tied to engagement and black box algos, but it's tied to the value the market gives to it

Yeah I phrased this poorly. 

I smashed together two points + should’ve said: 

- It’s clearly not actually worth $81 because there’s no liquidity on any of them (except for the very viral ones) so it’s not really a market

- It would be better imo if it was tied to engagement in some way (don’t know how lol)

your point is right, the values of balances are not accurate and people may think rug or fees are the cause of getting less than expected

I think the post was displaying market cap (now they aren't for me) and the real creator holdings are the 1% of that value being displayed (plus the liquidity thing)

it confused me first time but it is not a big deal when you know what is happening, agree that newcomers may need a small tooltip explaining liquidity or something about the accuracy

I get that but the prices they show is very misleading since there’s no liquidity. 

Anyone coming from outside of crypto will expect to have $81 if they see that on their app. And they just won’t. 

Runs the risk of yet another rug pull for newcomers in crypto

The entire concept is going to fail. But the app is awesome.

If someone buys for 81, then someone can sell for 81. If no one buys, no one can sell.
