we can chip away at the chicken-and-egg problem by being more stringent about where we expect net new users/liquidity to come from the problem is worsened with the introduction of more unproven apps into fragmented environments (mostly bc the above hasn’t been properly answered)

“the pointlessness is prevalent in builder culture in crypto. people rank novelty higher than usefulness because attention (and then ultimately, token) is the end product. the fallacy lies in the assumption that it is harder to excite and attract attention with usefulness than it is with the promise of a new way of doing something, or through speculation and noise. this strategy seemingly gains and maintains attention from users, developers, investors, retail, until launch.” https://eshitanandini.substack.com/p/running-fast-nowhere

Uniswap v4 feels like crypto's first complete product. Uniswap v3 was already nearly there, which is one reason why while previous versions took ~1 year, v4 took 4 years. I can see additional functionality (e.g. unified liquidity) and responding to infra changes (e.g. quantum-resistant zkVMs) that will justify a v5, but the core purpose of this application now feels complete for the foreseeable future. What's remaining is now on the governance & social end. Aave v4 is the next candidate for a complete product. Interestingly, the applications are hitting final form years ahead of the infra they're built on, and in cases like Aave v4, being intertwined with infra itself. (Side-note: of course, simple "products" like memecoins or USDT are "complete")

one of the shortcomings in crypto is designing things on the assumption that human nature could be different than it has always been

Some teams spend $100K on a hackathon… Then 3 months later, 2 devs are still active. We're not onboarding devs. We’re burning through them. We built atrium.academy to fix this. → Curation of an accelerator → Spirit of a hackathon → Intensity of a bootcamp The results for our first program speak for themselves. As we grow we want to lean *more onchain*. → Our grads receive acceptance / graduation NFTs → Future cohorts will receive USDC prizes → We tested Warpcast for UHI1 /uniswaphooks but feature sent wasn't ready then 75% of applicants list a Farcaster handle (vs 72% for LinkedIn 😮) @haardikkk (leads education) is a farcaster stan. I've been a DAU since last season of /crypto-the-game. What experiments should we cook up?
