What is Base? Base is an Ethereum Layer‑2 (L2) network built by Coinbase using the OP Stack, designed to scale Ethereum by processing transactions off-chain securely via Optimistic Rollups.  It inherits Ethereum’s security while enabling much faster and cheaper transactions—typically under a cent and confirmations in under a second.  Base is tailored to be developer-friendly, offering full EVM compatibility, which makes migrating dApps from Ethereum easier.
