Wild to say this is what’s going on already
The call (a buddy of mine made it, not me) from ~11 years ago when I was getting into dev stuff for the first time, was that the OS would just be your voice. It would code arbitrary software on demand. And everyone would be able to create custom apps for whatever.
The companies here are trying to build this with a Web2 moat—but the future is web3, open source, untrusted but verified. You can buy a $2000 computer (M4 mac mini 48gb configuration) that privately handles these tasks just a little worse than the frontier models listed here, and it won’t share your data or charge you a monthly fee beyond electricity.
