THE ATTEMPT TO ESCAPE FROM PAIN CREATES MORE PAIN. Pain is one of those things we’re wired to avoid — naturally. We numb it, distract ourselves, scroll endlessly, stay “busy,” laugh over it, or even convince ourselves it’s not that deep. But here’s the hard truth: What we avoid doesn’t disappear. It waits. Sometimes it grows in silence. Sometimes it hides in habits we can’t explain. And sometimes, it shows up when we least expect it — louder, sharper, heavier. Escaping pain doesn’t heal it. Facing it does. Sitting with it. Naming it. Letting it teach you — not define you. That’s where the real strength is. Because healing is not in running away… It’s in walking through. So if you’re hurting, don’t rush to escape it. Feel it. Process it. Cry if you must. Ask for help. Rest. Journal. Pray. Breathe. It won’t last forever. But the peace that comes after?
