The Minnesota fraud issue hits very close to home for me because the reason I was told my mom was ejected from state assisted living, which she desperately needed, before she died was lack of funding. Yet all this fraud was happening at the same time. I can’t offer an objective, even perspective beyond this personal fact because the betrayal I feel from the systems and people who were supposed to protect us runs so deep that rage and disgust cloud any path I can see towards healing and justice. Corruption in all forms costs real lives. In this case, because it’s so close to me, all I can do is hope and trust that those with clearer sight can illuminate the way to real justice for those responsible for genuine suffering, no matter what powers protect them.
