I’ve been noticing that more people have become fearful of expressing themselves freely online, especially in the past 10 years or so. Have you noticed this too? Either way, why do you think this is?

I think a lot of it’s tied to fear, whether it’s getting canceled or not fitting into some mold. Our digital selves have become so deeply tied to our real-life identities Esp w Gen Z, there’s this constant pressure to curate and perform, everything’s gotta be profound, aspirational, or picture perfect. No one’s talking about the mundane, messy, day-to-day stuff anymore. It’s all filtered, roses, and Lambos

Agreed. I think it's because it's easier to be "confronted" by ppl who aren't engaged with actual dialogue Many ppl on social are here to prove how they're "right" and selecting discussions to troll or combat others. They also aren't putting their reputation on the line and holding themselves accountable
