Is it weird that I like how no one I know IRL is on Farcaster? Asked a few friends and almost all haven't even heard of it. There's something freeing about sharing without the pressure of being perceived… or wondering if someone I know is judging. Reminds me of my early content creating days - didn't tell anyone except my sister and boyfriend for months. Friends only found my page when it randomly showed up on their feed. Back then I just shared food I liked, things I found interesting. No overthinking. Feels nice to have that space again.

I always panic before posting on Instagram because I’m afraid of being judged by people from my hometown. But on Farcaster, it feels like I can actually just be my real self. It’s much closer to the version of me in person.

yes! when i first joined, i found it kinda like a text-based version of TikTok, where if you make a video it goes to 200 random people who have never seen you or heard of you before. could share whatever was on my mind.

I’ve met many Farcasters IRL yet I still agree with this. Only person that I onboarded from that side of my life is my wife

Hope to see you in NYC area one of these days. The Farcaster IRL events are remarkable. Great food, and fun conversations. Everyone is sooo much kinder and fascinating than you can image.

Nobody I know is in crypto either. I asked them why and they said they felt like something was going to happen to it! Very few people actually know about it I guess there’s a reason for that

Sounds weird but cool at the same time cos it gives a sense of privacy lol Let rl people stay in rl lol instead of making one feel insecure about the banters we put out

I agree It brings out more creativity out of you, since there is no presence of people to be judgmental of the things you put out. Its simply amazing ✨

feels closer to the early internet days where there was definitely a separation to online communities and IRL friendships

Very true. Although in my more rambunctious days I did very much enjoy the disgust and ire that those in my life would find by seeing what I would post.

i am 50/50 on it. i don’t mind if anyone I knew (barely have friends) used Farcaster or knew I used it as long as it’s a common interest and you’re on it for a good reason, i don’t see the reason to hide it
