My 11 year-old: “Dad, how old were you when you got your first phone?” Me: “18.” Him: horrified silence I might as well have said I churned butter and communicated by carrier pigeon. (My kids don’t have their own phones)

Keep them away from social media as long as you possibly can. Kids need to be kids and need to get a grasp on who they are before outside influences take hold.
