european countries I want to come back and spend more time in: netherlands, switzerland, germany, poland, finland, sweden

my guess is that it all depends on how dense/touristy were the cities you went to.  My best vacations have been in the italian countryside and small towns near the sea. Similar situation in Spain. Agree on Switzerland and Finland.

I've been to small villages in italy 

don't like the lack of infrastructure

ok but is it to visit again or to live? I am actually considering purchasing a small villag on the border of Italy and Switzerland. Lugano and Milano are around the corner, infrastructure seems fine and the mountains against the lakes are just too beautiful.

you do realize that like a hundred countries in the world have the same sceneries right?

except in many you'll also have a full-on washroom in 25 meters with stalls and good plumbing, that is also clean and stocked with toilet paper

that's what i mean by amenities

just "fine" isn't something i want to spend a lot of time around when there are better options
