Artistically, last year was a milestone for me, with my art exhibited twice in NYC and once in Las Vegas
As someone who never imagined creating visual pieces, let alone having them exhibited and appreciated by others, last year’s events were a huge surprise and a profound lesson
The lesson is simple: always go for it
Before submitting my work, I told myself I had no chance against the pieces I’d seen, but I thought, “What do I have to lose besides a few minutes to submit my work?”
You should always pursue what seems unlikely or scary, you truly have nothing to lose. Many of my submissions weren’t accepted, and that’s okay!!!
At first, rejection stings, but then you learn to celebrate others’ successes and trust that what’s meant for you will happen
