āWeāve built rooms for people to code. Now letās build rooms for people to create.ā The more Iāve observed hackathons, the more Iāve felt something missing We celebrate the builders of infrastructure (and rightly so). But what about the people who give that infrastructure meaning, emotion, identity? The Cultural Hackathonš¹ is my reflection on why I believe we need a new kind of hackathon, one designed not just for shipping code, but for shaping culture. A space for creators to collaborate, experiment, and lead the next wave of expression This isnāt about replacing the traditional hackathon (we need it). Itās about acknowledging a missing piece. The piece that inspires people to care, to connect, to participate. That piece is culture. And weāve never been more in need of formats that help us build it consciously Also s/o to @humpty.eth for creating what I believe is the first iteration of a hackathon like this Thank you!š¹ https://fountain.ink/p/eduardmsmr/2fsakd9hxnkyhm467a6

I like the concept and it takes me back to our conversation the other day :) The coding hackathons happen in part due to their more direct relationship towards funding I think that what could/should happen with a cultural version would be in relation to cocreating in a manner that likely increases connections, collaborations, and has as part of the goals the ability to pierce the noise with better collective signal into greater mindshare I would think that part of the organizational toolset that would really help that would surround how content is collected, curated, & shared from such an event, in a way that results in cultural impact via visibility & legacy
