The third round of Fountain Featured has ended, and Iām proud to announce that my article, The Cultural Hackathon, has won second place!
Itās an article in which I explore what a hackathon truly is, and what it means on a deeper social level when we strip away the surface layers. I ask why, now more than ever, we need to build more spaces for people to create, just as weāve built them for those who code
This piece isnāt about replacing the traditional hackathon (we need them; we always will). Itās about acknowledging a missing piece, one that inspires people to care, to connect, to participate. That piece is culture. That piece is creative expression. And weāve never been more in need of formats that help us build it consciously
More than winning second place, what truly makes me happy is knowing that others resonate with these thoughts
Maybe now is the right time for a Cultural Hackathon
