Sudden influx on emails pitching for guest posts on my sites again in the last couple of weeks.. What changed?!

Nah it's just the same old thing of people wanting to put their content on my site and embed a link back. It's an easy no thanks from me!

Oh, I should have guessed 😅. Now that everyone's a writer with AI, that's true. Good etiquette should be followed in such cases. Rather than "cold calling" or probably sending the same email to many site owners, I get a similar thing from people wanting to send me some cheap product in turn for me making a video about it on my channel. 97% of the time, I'm not interested.

For sure, but it rarely is for me, it's almost always sub optimal.  It's usually a middleman, some bad AI content with link request for a site in a totally different niche. Usually proper creators know to actually have a chat first on social or whatever first, so self qualify before the ask.

Yes, I understand. I have a site and prefer to keep my own articles, but if it were a genuine creator who has something interesting to discuss, then content is content, and a backlink is a small price to pay.
