What happened today with $LA on Gate The token got listed on Gate's futures. Meanwhile, spot price on other exchanges (like KuCoin) was trading around $0.5. Then someone pumped the KuCoin price to $56, and since Gate had no spot pair, the price followed KuCoin’s spot price. So the $LA futures on Gate skyrocketed. Naturally, everyone opened shorts on Gate at $1, $2, and $5, expecting a reversion to $0.5. But Gate started printing $25–30 candles, liquidating everyone on the way up with over $19M in liquidations. Gate is now reportedly refusing to return the funds. This is how you lose money in crypto on a coin with no liquidity and no fundamentals. Just look at those screenshots. This is another reminder to be careful in the sphere.

2nd order effects: - Has *some* negative impact on $SOL (at least in the short term), as there will be some rotation into $PUMP - as many people used the SOL token as a proxy to get upside to the on-chain fee generation derived from Pump Fun - However, this rotation likely becomes a "buy the rumour, sell the news" event, where the damage on SOL is priced in ahead of time - SOL/ETH likely keeps reversing as a result (although it is at support rn), and there is some front-running of other alt L1s - This is arguably a good thing for the market (I made a lot of money on the SOL eco, but imo $ETH/ETH eco pumping tends to be a lot better for the space (due to wealth effect) + Solana is incredibly PvP/rotationary and has been for quite some time).

Some unfiltered thoughts/opinions on the Pump Fun token: Pump itself: - Launching too late imo, affects optics/sentiment as fees are now grinding to a halt - They made $738m in fees.. If some of this isn't distributed back to ecosystem incentives, idk what to say (feels like the antithesis of $HYPE on face value - but, benefit of the doubt until we get more details on tokenomics) - They don't need to raise $1b (they already have $700m+!).. Massive overkill and clearly opportunistic

Problem i see is people don't play according to their portfolio. if you portfolio is under $1000, it won't be useful to buy into 10 projects. Diversification is kinda key for portfolio over $100k. If your portfolio is $1000, best way to win is to ape 10k to 100k project with proper research. I know Levi and gake started with 1sol, they fucking did this, now they are followed by everyone in this industry. Learn the trenches, make trenches your bitch.
