Reminds me of Jonah rejecting the Call, having his unconscious (the Sea) almost kill him and everyone else. He knows all along he’s avoiding the call, and he finally submits to it; being swallowed up by the Whale (Leviathan, a chthonic figure) for three days only to be vomited up and set on the path he was called to in the first place. The Self yearns to be actualized, and it will orchestrate chaos in your life if you try to subvert it. Like a powerful river finding a crack in a dam.
