Isn’t that the point of social media? An exchange of attention? Without other users bidding for attention, there would be no community. The point of a bid for attention is an attempt to connect.

Power Badge > Verified Caster (some new status) > New User

Create an easy to pass gate similar to warps required to post on certain channels. This status would be seen in priority notifications.

I think the question is, can we continue to grow Farcaster's user base if a lot (possibly a majority) of users feel like they can't be heard because they don't have a badge. 

It's discouraging for people to try and establish a presence here. Especially when they find out that people aren't even seeing their comments.

Time and attention are one of our most precious and limited resources.
I do not envy your position of trying to reasonably please the masses.
