if you weren’t already wealthy/successful, would you be concerned about the coming waves of layoffs and unemployment?

put another way, do you see a future of mass abundance or one that further entrenches existing wealth disparity?

At the risk of having people dismiss because of confirmation bias, my sense is:

1. If you’re conscientious and hard-working, there will always be good opportunities. 

2. Remember when everyone predicted AI was going to take all the low-skilled jobs first only to have it now be more a threat to knowledge work? I think people are really bad about predicting the future. Will take a lot longer to happen, even if the technology is available. The real world is slow to change. 

3. I believe human desires are effectively infinite and well figure out ways to create scarcity even in a world of AI-powered abundance. Scarcity creates economic opportunity.
