This reminds me of how online AARPGs like Path of exile have evolved into doing seasons. Where new content is released in big patches every quarter or so and they can see in the data that each new season brings tons of users back and then they naturally fall off after they absorb the new content, but then they come back when the next season launches.

That's how I feel too, I usually click through and give it a like to encourage people. Good feature.
