U.S. lawmakers tried adding crypto conflict-of-interest rules to the CLARITY Act,  
targeting officials like Trump who profit from crypto projects.  
The White House blocked the proposal on June 11.  
The clause aimed to ban presidents, VPs, and lawmakers from promoting or profiting  
from crypto while in office. A separate anti-Trump amendment also failed.  
The White House is negotiating new wording with Republicans,  
hoping to pass the bill by August.  
But Democratic support is shaky.
