šŗšø PRESIDENT TRUMP IS CONFIDENT THAT THE FED WILL REDUCE INTEREST RATES AFTER MEETING WITH PRESIDENT POWELL š¹ President Trump described the meeting with Fed Chairman Jerome Powell as positive and believes that Mr. Powell will soon start proposing an interest rate reduction. š¹ Both the White House and the Fed evaluated yesterday's meeting and construction tour as constructive and mutually respectful. A Fed official said they were honored to welcome the first US President in nearly 2 decades to visit the FED. š¹ However, the White House continues to put pressure on the Fed. Budget Director Russell Vought also called for interest rate cuts, especially to support the real estate market, and called for a review of the Fed's operations and criticized the high cost of renovation of the Federal Reserve building. š¹ President Trump concluded that he believed Chairman Powell would "do the right thing" in terms of interest rates, although it may be decided to come a bit late.
