🇺🇸🇪🇺🇲🇽 President Trump announced the 30% tariff in letters to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, effective from August 1. He warned that if the EU or Mexico responded by raising taxes, the US would add that exact percentage to the current tax rate of 30%. President Trump also emphasized that the EU, as a whole bloc, exports more to the US than any individual country.
