I was CD at the design studio that was agency of record for id Software. I worked on Quake 2, Quake III Arena, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein as well as a bunch of ports of Doom, Wolfenstein, etc. to other platforms.
Quake III Arena was the first ever tin software package. I worked with a moon pie tin manufacturer in China to develop the engineering. This particular package was signed by the team at id Software—the signatures are not part of the design.
