1) start small (build for yourself) 2) keep the core functionality simple (remove everything that doesn't need to be there) 3) experiment with fun features ("random walk" for discovery) some random rules of thumb: - single primary action - don't overdo the visual - think about the social graph (for sharing + in-app functionality) - leaderboard almost always helps - make use of the notifs - people love (free / inexpensive) mementos prompted by @rch (thank you)
