does speed reading *actually* work?

I’ve tried it in earnest a handful of times and either my cpu isn’t powerful enough or I’m doing it wrong.

seems ripe for psyop with its claim to superhuman benefit and ability to always say “you just need to practice more” etc.

but, is it real?

for me, i can skim through stuff that i already know or that’s low information density very quickly. but i still need to chew on the new/useful stuff

so it’s kind of a “hunt” mode then “digest” mode
