Just had someone call me pretending to work for the Company I bought my cold storage wallet from. This was a sophisticated social engineering scam. I must stress it was sophisticated, perpetrated by Americans! The set up, did not ask for any Personally Identifiable Information they already had it. She only needed to confirm that I had not contacted them in an attempt to recover my wallet. Granted anyone that know knows this is not possible, however she then gave me a confirmation number that the security team would use to verify themselves. She wasn't pushy or rushed very smooth and even, she asked for a time frame when they could call, days later even to sell that lie and make it appear legit. While I find it interesting to keep scammer on the phone and lead them on as a little FU to waste their time, this was a step above every other scammer that I have ever spoken to! 😑 I stopped playing the game let her know I obviously knew the company will never call, and reported it.
