GM, Thursday listeners. Today we’re heading to Mississippi with Atomship — a short-lived but unforgettable force in early 2000s alt-metal. Their 2004 debut The Crash of ’47 fused technical complexity with melodic power and included “Time for People,” featured on the Punisher soundtrack. Tragically, guitarist Nathan Slade passed away in 2009, and vocalist Joey Culver died in 2020. Since then, the band has been inactive — and they’ve publicly stated that any “new” Atomship content on Spotify or YouTube is unauthorized. If you're new to them, start with the real deal: The Crash of ’47. One album. One legacy. https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nHYoQUIl4kviykTgiZryQaQoHrAiwZhvA
