He does get all the credit but there are many many many designers that worked on these products.

However fun fact, we can indirectly blame Jony Ive for the fact that all cars have boring colours now.

Why? Since apple came out with their sleek white powerbooks and later macbooks people started to change their styles to match it. Sleeker interiors, white and black cars etc.. and this barely changed since. You can actually look at device and vehicle colours from before Ive at apple and after.

I don’t know about cars, but I would definitely agree that tech became more boring and "sleek" (in a bad way)

It could also be a societal factor… post 911 and the great financial crisis.
