I need a cost-effective device that I only use for reading. Books, articles, PDFs, etc. Must be able to sync with Readwise relatively easily, and must not easily distract me with non-reading activities.

for cost-effective and distraction-free experience I’d recommend Kindle basic/paperwhite . they’re purpose-built for reading, excellent battery life and sync with Readwise relatively easily. you won’t be tempted by social media or other apps.
