is KYC a trojan horse by the bad guys?

every place where private data is stored is going to be a target of the bad guys, so, why store that data to begin with?

I know somw laws enforce it.. why are these laws there? just to help the bad guys?

I love transparency but when it is optional.. it is only a way to expose the good guys data to the bad guys
