Seriously, this is just part of my fear with ipfs when I see it is a paid plan. Like so all metadata gets deleted after some months defaults??

Not exactly. It costs money to run software no matter how you pitch it. Pinning providers pay cloud bills to keep files pinned Running an ipfs node from your computer costs power Blockchain nodes also cost money to run Nothing is truly free. However IPFS gives you the power to decide what is worth to keep pinning. Even if you did default on a pinning provider plan you can pin the files somewhere else, like another provider or your own computer using an app like IPFS desktop. The true trade off is responsibility. People in crypto talk about valuing decentralization until it means they have to participate in keeping it that way, by running software or managing their data. Providers help lift this burden a bit, but the end goal is for everyone to participate in a global decentralized network. Whether that’s social, storage, or blockchain.
