Worldcoin’s officially launching in the US, giving people crypto ("Worldcoin") for getting their irises scanned. It’s backed by Sam Altman, the OpenAI CEO. The process uses an "Orb" device to verify uniqueness. Lots of questions are being raised about privacy and potential misuse, especially given the biometric data collection. It's a pretty controversial move, to say the least.
