I find this to be an interesting topic. Does tipping/giving make you feel happier? Purpose > Transaction (Lewis Hyde The Gift, highly recommend) Auto-tipping can commoditize the part where you choose to be generous. That little moment of intent. that’s where the oxytocin hits. No conscious choice then no chemical release. Need to retrain my brain it’s not just a like we are giving… It speed up trust loops (expecting nothing in return 🙌), but do we risk losing the warm fuzzies? “But neither money nor machines can create. They shuttle tokens of energy, but they do not transform. A civilization based on them puts people out of touch with their creative powers.” - Lewis Hyde

I agree, giving with intention feels so much more fulfilling than auto-tipping. It’s interesting how the act of giving impacts our emotions and sense of connection. Do you think the ‘warm fuzzies’ would disappear if tipping became more automated and detached?
