Hey everyone, I want to talk about something many of us have felt but rarely voice: what happens when friendship feels a little one-sided. I've been that friend, the one who drops everything, listens for hours, celebrates every win, and offers their last bit of energy, all for a bond I truly cherished.

For a long time, I told myself that's just what friends do. But there's a huge difference between being a selfless friend and constantly sacrificing yourself. It's not about keeping score; it's about the quiet frustration that builds when you're always giving, always compromising, and always bending over backwards, without that same effort ever being returned.

You start to wish for that same care, that same consideration, that same willingness to simply show up for you. It's a lonely feeling to be in a one-sided friendship. You begin to wonder if your needs matter, if you're not important enough, or if your efforts are just taken for granted.

If you haven't been in such a friendship, you won't know how it feels to be doing everything for the friendship to work out. Sometimes you will feel like, "Am I dumb to be doing all this for someone who doesn't give a f**k about you?" The pain of letting that person go will always be at the back of your mind. He/she won't be there when you need them most, but will be expecting you to do everything for them. Friendship is not how the majority see it these days. You should have my back any day and time, and I should do so. No one should be sided by anyone. The majority just know the meaning of friendship, but they don't know what it takes to be one.
