I will never—ever—stop using em dashes until someone invents a more appealing alternative that only uses up one character Here’s why they’re awesome: • dashes and en dashes feel cramped and have other technical uses that make them both ambiguous in how they should be read • comma-spaces are asymmetrical and so to my eye are ugly • Other alternatives that create the same amount of space take two or three characters to tap out…are visually far more distracting…and read like too-long pauses by comparison I am not an AI—filtering for these will just filter me I hope this isn’t already happening—here on Farcaster or anywhere

There are cases where an em dash cannot be replaced by a comma 👍

True—which is why I still use them, and why I would never propose their proper use as a metric for identifying ai-generated content for down-ranking
