🚨 Crypto Horror: Kidnapped for Bitcoin

In New York, crypto investor John Woeltz was charged with kidnapping and torturing a 28-year-old Italian man to get access to his BTC wallet.

👣 The victim was abducted shortly after landing in the U.S. on May 6, locked in a luxury townhouse, and tortured for weeks. The suspects demanded his wallet password and used stun guns, a saw, and narcotics to force compliance.

👮‍♀️ The man escaped on May 17 and called the police. 

Woeltz was arrested the same day and is now in custody without bail. A 24-year-old woman was briefly detained but later released.

This case adds to the growing trend of crypto-related kidnappings, with France already on high alert after several similar incidents.
