How to get stuff done every day: 1. Identify 3 things you need to get done. No more, no less. 2. Write them down. 3. Execute against those 3 things and only them. 4. Repeat.

do you do more than 3 if you have the time?

Of course! Once you complete the three, refresh the list and do another 3. The primary idea here is that you're only juggling 3 things at a time, and it forces you to ruthlessly prioritize: #4 doesn't get done until 1-3 do.

The reason for this is because of what @fffflood alluded to: a lot of people will do things #4-7 before doing #2 because #2 is a task that is important and urgent, but difficult. So you feel "productive", but you worked on the wrong things.

i really like this - going to try to push for it. will switch my text edit list into one group of three at the top at a time (yes i use text edit/notepad for personal lists before they hit linear)
