I buy it. I’m general a trauma rooted response to something is pretty hard to control, because a fish doesn’t know it is wet. Buttress that with some kind of in-group pride and you’ve got a recipe for conflict-seeking defaults.
Takes a lot of effort to just chill. And might not be advantageous.
