using p(doom) / probability of extinction is counterproductive it presents as a religious argument and no one really knows what literal extinction looks like and how to quantify it just talk about all the obvious terrifying things that can happen like home labs engineering viruses, and then add "and even worse we don't really know" instead it's why would a vastly more intelligent beings not want to extinct us—uh beings? want? what is this eschatology? what about the people deep in the amazon? we have global coordination endangered species after all...? climate doomerism religion over again where death clocks tick past midnight
