One heavy correction: the Dawn specs are very underpowered -- it needs to be at least 12 vCPU, 16GB RAM (and if it's a VPS and not baremetal, maybe higher, there's some weirdness with how some of the cheaper VPSes are managing resources).

If I just type the 9ai) command I get ‘no such file or directory’

its important to safekeep it. your peer id is like your wallet address. and your private keypair is like privatekey. its testnet right now, to bring that same wallet along to mainnet you need to safekeep these info

Is there missing instructions for step 9 (backup private key pair)? It says the files needed but I’m not sure the process / command to action it  (seems important >.<)

The current version hasnt given this possibility fwik. I myself stop the node to download and rebuild the latest release.

yes you can. rent a vps, then ssh into your vps from your mac via terminal. 2 separate machines.

Can you run it with a Mac if renting a VPS? Sorry I’ve never done this before

Thank you for the reply. One last question: I didn't manage to save my private key pair. I get a "Permission denied" message. Any idea how to troubleshoot that?

this came with the huge number of peers we have now in Q. >9k and may happen with the newer nodes who are starting now. In the next few releases this will be fixed. in the meantime, try and try again, using the service or the go run command, as some also who are as new node as you have their nodes working despite this

add sudo before vim. and your logged in user should have superuser rights, if youre not using root

Hi @demipoet 

I am really struggling with step 11 of your guide.
I have suceessfully followed all steps (including 4 and 5 with no voucher) but there is no /bin/node folder being created in /root/go/ (as stated in step 5/c/ii) and, as a consequence, the ceremony client cannot be started.

Nothing interesting. Leave me alone. I don't want to tell you a little about myself. How much more text do i have to write in here?

If i start the node manually, it starts up and runs for a few hours then it stops.

I have tried multiple times and got the same result.
I am using Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS

Can you please give me some guidance? I have no idea what to do next.
