2. Read the route numbers before you commit Every route shows three numbers that matter: Base Profit Rate the raw premium for that cargo grade at the destination. Tax Rate what the port takes. Net Profit Rate what you actually keep after tax. Same-grade cargo (e.g. Grade C cfMILK and cfTOMATO) shares the same Base Profit Rate at a given port. Higher Net Profit is better, but only if the timing still holds when you arrive. Markets recover and saturations build; a route that looked great an hour ago can be mediocre by the time you unload.
