Got an email from the WA State Green Party (of which I am a member), saying they are banning all use of generative AI in Green Party affairs, meetings, and communications including message boards and email discussion between members, INCLUDING their use as disability aids, in that case because "Advocates, particularly in the neurodiverse community, have spoken up against the use of tools like ChatGPT as disability aids, which can exacerbate executive dysfunction and increase cognitive load." What?? Wow. Yikes... Well I'm not above criticizing my own party and this is one where I just don't understand what they're thinking. Have you all seen this from other political groups in your area? Now I'm curious.

β€œβ€¦which can exacerbate executive dysfunction and increase cognitive load." 🀨wtf?! Can they give me some sources to back this up? What if someone shows up to a meeting and uses a real time translation app into their native language? Transcribing meeting times or even better live subtitling etc. is where it actually makes sense lol?

Yeah it's ridiculous they specify that you can use pre-generative AI disability aid tools but if it uses generative AI it's not allowed. No sources given. I need to look back on the discussion to read more bc I haven't followed it closely. I just instinctively don't like that line though.
