Frida - Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird - 1940 This artist taught me to become legitimate as an artist. Her art is so impactful and intimate that I understood when I first discovered this artist that we also have the right to exist and express strong things with our art, no matter who we are.
