If I had to save just one book, it would be this one "Das Schloss" by Kafka. My first book (I was 21). The story of the illusory desire that we hope to achieve one day in our lives, the extinction of our deep desire through belief in the State, in employment system, and in norms that distance us from ourselves.

the castle is indeed a remarkable work as you’ve pointed out. However, Kafka’s “The Trial” has always been among my top choices. It echoes the sense of injustice prevalent in my country.

Sounds like an interesting book, I will read it. When I heard that desire disappears, it reminded me of "Momo" from Ende's works. It is a children's book but a deep work.
