In Brazil, two women were filmed stealing money by scanning cards from passersby through a POS terminal… crazy! How do you protect yourself from this? Well... There are various aluminum cardholders that theoretically can help protect against this.

Neat. Becoming a POS terminal operator requires some pretty deep KYC though right? There's no way they could get away with doing this for very long is there? I do tap to pay with my phone which needs biometric unlock for anything above five dollars or so, or for less trusted terminals.

On the black market you can buy a company with a POS terminal for about $300... I don't know about limits, my bank requires a PIN for any purchase over $10.
