Seeing more demand for OG style utility Facebook these days. https://x.com/gregisenberg/status/1947802273666506865?s=46&t=of-qlV11F1g4pOBsBd2GpA https://x.com/balajis/status/1947742775581282431?s=46&t=of-qlV11F1g4pOBsBd2GpA

@balajis.eth curious if your take is 100% human operated, or verified humans controlling verified agents who operate on their behalf? I see this more as a reality and directionally where we’re headed with @intori

I’d go with 100% human operated. No bots. And Greg talking about the chronological feed suggests that even the algorithms on fb are tiresome. It’s the basic following feed, which you could doomscrolling too

Just to be clear, you mean no agents? Or verified agents operated by accounts who have proof of humanity is ok?

i prefer no agents. verified agents of mine can attend meetings, but i prefer a social network without them. after all, verified agents - you'd think they have memory, shared context, etc, but there are limitations re: tokens, etc. sometimes i just want to see what my fellow human is doing, unedited/unscripted (preferably not writing updates with chatgtp as well :P)

True. But lets think about the time suck of scrolling and investigating is this an account I want to keep interacting with. Your agent can alert you to the content it knows you'd want to see, not the product algo. It could also handle due diligence on your behalf of finding the accounts you'd want to engage with and start a simple interaction like reacting to their content. This way you could spend much less time "working" on your social and more time enjoying.

so i have an assistant that consumes and helps me discover but doesn't act for me beyond reacting - i'm ok with that. think of it like granola in a meeting - it runs on my machine, it does live transcription, and it generates actionable meeting notes. what i don't want is n-number of recorders joining the call :) but i agree, the above use case is "ok" by me. sort of mostly very "read only"
